Wheel loaders WL28e: Electric, powerful, environmentally-friendly

The power ratings of the electrically-driven WL28e wheel loader correspond to those of a conventional diesel-operated machine. The installed 96-Volt lithium-ion battery is available in three power ratings so that the running and charging times can be optimally coordinated with the work requirements. Different charging cables and plugs ensure the machine’s flexible charging options. The WL28e works on-site completely free from exhaust gases and with significantly lower noise emissions. For the end user, this means greater flexibility in application, environmental protection and significant savings with operating costs. The low design of the front end therefore provides the perfect visibility and high tipping loads. It will master pallets with paving stones or other transported goods up to 1.6 t effortlessly.

Powerful lithium-ion battery

It is always possible to select the appropriate battery size depending on the area and purpose of application. There is a total of three maintenance-free lithium-ion batteries to choose from: As standard there is the 14.1 kWh, optionally available there are 18 kWh or 28 kWh.
A 3 kW onboard charger is installed as standard. Optionally, a second 3 kW onboard charger can be selected to increase the charging power up to a total of 6 kW, which is suitable for the medium and large battery to achieve a fast charging time.

Easy charging options

The charging cover can be accessed easily from the outside on the machine. Behind it you will find the socket, the activation switch, and the charge display.
The charging cable (Type 2 plug on the machine, familiar from the automotive industry), including the control box, is available with a number of different plugs: 230 V / 10 A Schuko, 230 V / 16 A CEE (blue, 3-pole), 400 V / 16 A CEE (red, three-phase AC current, 5-pole), 400 V / 16 A (Type 2 plug wall box, IEC 62196), and other adapter plugs.
The flexible, selectable charging plugs enable fast and coordinated charging of the selected battery size. In combination with the installed on-board charger, both efficient and safe charging processes are guaranteed.

High productivity thanks to the low front carriage

The low front carriage makes high tipping loads and break out forces possible; this way, the maximum load per work cycle can be moved.
The low front carriage provides for an outstanding overview of the attachment, the immediate work area and the entire surroundings of the machine, which guarantees safe working with the machine.
The auxiliary hydraulics at the front on the load arm are protected by piping (3rd control circuit, 4th control circuit, overflow line, unpressurized return line, depending on the model). That is a unique selling point in the compact wheel loader class. Wear and tear is minimized and, as a result, the service life of the machine is increased.

Comfort cab

The comfort cabin enables safe and concentrated working: 4-pillar design, deep-drawn windows, and a panoramic windshield for optimal all-round visibility. The thought-out heating design with electrically heated front and rear windshields, heated seats, as well as roof panel heating ensure for a comfortable working climate. Ergonomically organized operating elements, new interior, and reduced vibrations and noises in the interior increase the operator’s comfort.
The spatial provision within the cabin is pioneering among the very compact wheel loaders. Depending on equipment and configuration, there are two different joysticks available. The Coming-Home lighting provides additional comfort and safety.
The cab is also suitable for taller operators, which isn't always the case for very compact wheel loaders. The pleasant working climate reduces operator fatigue. The optimized access with non-slip steps ensures that the operator can get in and out safely.

Easy-to-read digital display

The main functions always in sight: With the digital display, the operator always has everything in sight while working.
On the outside of the display are the standard indications, like the warning light for the parking brake or the control lights for the indicator or the full beam.
In the central area of the display for information there are three main views and a variety of useful information, e.g. operating hour meter, charge status of the drive battery, remaining running time / remaining charge time, speed display, average consumption, recuperation level, date, time, or temperature of different components.

Compared to conventional wet painting, powder coating significantly extends the service life of the machine and is environmentally friendly at the same time.
The durable powder coating guarantees value retention and ensures an accordingly high resale value for the machine.

Two powerful lifting cylinders

Two powerful lift cylinders ensure that the load distribution is always optimally changed over to the load arm. Also, the overall loading system gains stability, which supports the operator in application.
In combination with two lift cylinders, the torsion-resistant load arm prevents, to the greatest extent possible, damage to the loading system caused by torsion. This reduces possible service costs and the value retention of the machine is increased.

The tasks for wheel loaders are varied and so are the attachments from Wacker Neuson. With our comprehensive and sophisticated product range of attachments, any model can become a multifunctional machine.
The investment asset “wheel loader” can be used for a variety of task areas and is thus very economical.
The machine can be used all year round (e.g. even for winter service), relying on many different attachments depending on the application.

Optimum tires

The right tires for a wheel loader play an important role in actual use. If the tires are optimally matched to the ground and the area of application, the driver can work with the machine without any problems.
Choosing the right tires provides maximum traction as well as minimal wear, which saves money because tires don't need to be changed frequently.
To achieve optimal performance on any subbase, seven treads are available for selection depending on model: EM tread, AS tread, SureTrax tread, RP tread, MPT tread, multi-use tread and Bibload tread. This ensures the maximum flexibility of the machine ex work.

Selectable operator's cab

Depending on the machine, different operator's cabs are available: fixed operator's canopy, fold-down operator's canopy EPS, hydraulically lowerable EPS Plus and different cab versions. Selecting the right operator's cab allows maximum flexibility for a great variety of applications and framework conditions.

Maintenance

Split hydraulic hoses

Wacker Neuson wheel loaders are designed with short hydraulic hose lengths in mind, and the hoses are split at several points. Therefore, if a hydraulic hose needs replacing, only the affected part will need to be replaced, not the entire hose in the hydraulic circuit. This speeds up repair times enormously and is also cost-efficient.

Easy maintenance

The engine hood can be opened upwards allowing the removal of the operator's seat and diverse access covers in just a few steps. This enables easy access to the hydraulics control block, the pumps, the battery, and the electric motors. With this, easy and time-saving maintenance of the machine is guaranteed.
A great benefit of an electrically operated machine is that clearly less maintenance arises overall than for a machine with a diesel engine.
