It is a highly efficient automatic hydraulically controlled band-saw with multiple material feeding. The band saw machine is designed for cutting in automatic cycle perpendicularly as well as angularly. It enables angle cuts to the right 0–60 degrees and to the left 0–45 degrees. Automatic turning to angular cuts is a part of cutting programs.
A feeder movement uses a ball screw, frame movement uses a ball screw and bow turning is realized by a gear train. Frame, turntable and feeder are driven by servo motors.
The band saw machine is suitable for cutting steel constructions and profiles with a long-step feeder (L = 1000 mm, one feeder speed). The machine is constructed for automatic cutting of long bars with automatic turning included.
When the machine is cutting an automatic program with angle cuts and with lengths shorter than 500 mm, the machine automatically interrupts the automatic cycle and waits.
The machine is designed to saw steel materials as well as non-ferrous and light metals. However, we recommend consulting the manufacturer about this option. No other materials may be sawn without approval from the manufacturer.
Control system
The machine is equipped with programmable PLC SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-1500. The drive of the band blade, movement of the arm, feeder movement and turntable movement are fully controlled and driven by SIEMENS technology.
The coloured touch screen HMI SIEMENS TP700 Comfort enables easy communication with the operator and shows working conditions such as blade speed, cutting feed and cutting parameters.
The machine enables two working modes:
- Semi-automatic cycle: The operator feeds the material manually using the feeder. The feeder movement can be controlled by buttons or GTO function.
- Automatic cycle: The feeder feeds the material according to the programmed cutting cycle. Up to 200 different programs can be stored. Each program includes blade speed, feed speed, cutting height, bar length, angles and number of pieces.
Cutting feed rate is regulated automatically by a servo motor, ball screw and KM nut, ensuring very precise feed control.
Two automatic system regulation modes are available: ARP and RZP.
- RZP (Zone regulation): Cutting in up to 5 zones with variable feed and blade speed.
- ARP (Automatic regulation): Feed regulation according to material resistance or blade wear. BIMETAL mode is optimized for profiles, CARBIDE mode for full materials.
The ergonomic control panel is mounted on a movable console and remains optimally positioned regardless of turntable angle. Mechanical buttons control all main machine movements and cutting cycles.
A safety module with automatic diagnostics is integrated into the control system.
Construction
The machine is designed for extreme industrial conditions. Its robust construction allows maximum utilization of bimetal blades.
The arm is a heavy welded structure ensuring high rigidity and cutting precision. It moves along two columns with four-row linear guides and is driven by a ball screw.
The arm position is monitored by an incremental sensor. Upper and lower working positions can be set in the control system.
The main vice uses massive cast jaws and is hydraulically operated. Its position is monitored by sensors and toothed comb measurement.
A rigid feeder with a feeding step of 970 mm is mounted on linear guides. The feeder is driven by a servomotor, belt transmission and ball screw.
Material positioning is monitored by optical sensors. The system automatically stops if no material is detected.
Turntable and arm rotation for angular cuts are driven by a servomotor with worm gear. Angle values are shown on the SIEMENS control panel.
Blade guiding uses hard-metal plates and bearings. The blade is inclined by 4 degrees for improved cutting performance and blade life.
Blade tensioning is hydraulic with automatic tension indication. A passive cleaning brush ensures proper blade cleaning.
The drive system consists of a worm gearbox with maintenance-free oil filling and a three-phase motor with frequency inverter for blade speeds from 20 to 100 m/min.
The cooling system supplies emulsion directly to the cutting zone via LocLine hoses. The massive base includes a chip tank and allows handling by forklift or crane.
